Robert has been working in the fitness industry since 1988. He started out in group fitness, teaching various aerobic class formats where he has taught, or still teaches, everything from high impact, to low impact, and trends like funk and slide, and (of course) step, where Robert became one of the most popular step instructors in the Toronto area, teaching every type of step format.
Robert's very first presentation was a step choreography workshop in 1993. He quickly became known as a teacher's teacher, with excellent musicality and cueing skills. That soon lead to his first conference in 1996 for Can-Fit-Pro in Toronto, presenting step to 350 people and a cueing workshop to over 200.
Some comments about Robert as a presenter (taken from evaluations):
"This is one of the best (conference) sessions I have ever attended...I loved it!"
"I liked his ability to teach, not just dazzle us with step (choreography)."
"...bring him back for more."
"You have so much energy - it's crazy!"
"...all usable for a class, very practical."
"He answered every question in (plain) English, so he was easy to understand."
"Robert knows his stuff!"
"Excellent presentation...lots to take away"
"I will definitely choose his session next year...please bring back."

Robert has had several highlights and achievements in his career, but one of Robert's proudest moments came in 1994, when he trained and choreographed himself, in only 7 months time, to become the novice Men's Individual Aerobic Champion and the bronze medallist in the National Aerobic Championship.
